The Highways Agency, along with other public bodies, is making cut-backs wherever they can at the moment, in line with government austerity measures designed to reduce our national deficit. So whilst lots of Local Authority workers are being made redundant or lots of services are being cut back, our roads have probably never been in a worse state of repair.
